Bank Incumbents Driving AI

Tim Hogarth, Chief Technology Officer at ANZ Bank, posted this LInkedIn update about how he and his team have been using AI to drive their engineering productivity.
Two points:
- They've been early adopters from the start – ever since GitHub launched Copilot, they've been users. Every engineer has and uses the technology to directly enhance their abilities.
- Tim refers to 'ANZ-authored software', highlighting that this is 'critical to how we delight our customers and compete in market'. Traditionally, banks really have struggled with their own codebases. AI – deployed correctly – can really, really turbocharge that.
Nice work Tim & Team.
I've been using it to help me with my own programming needs and it's been nothing short of revolutionary for me. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool LAMP stack guy ("Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP") and I've been writing my own classes and code for decades. Copilot in Visual Studio Code completely transformed the experience for me.
