Dalton Caldwell, the MD of Investments and Group Partner at Y-combinator ("YC") has a message for you: He – and the YC team – would like to hear your FinTech 2.0 pitches.

The YC team has posted an RFS – a "Request for Startups" and they are highlighting quite a few key areas where they're specifically interested in receiving pitches, including:

  1. Government software
  2. Public safety technology
  3. Manufacture in the USA
  4. Stablecoins 2.0
  5. LLMs for chip design
  6. Fintech 2.0
  7. New space companies
  8. AI-aided engineering tools
  9. One million jobs 2.0

Here's Dalton's pitch on FinTech 2.0:

The deadline for applications for the Winter 2025 batch is November 12... that is... tomorrow.

But, there will be another funding cycle next year.

If you're thinking about it, here's my message: Stop thinking and start doing. And just to encourage you... all you need is an idea:

Am I too early to apply to YC? Should I wait until I have more traction?
No, it would be a mistake to wait to apply. On average, 40% of the companies we fund in each batch are just an idea. Most don’t have any revenue.

In case you missed the high level concept with YC, it's pretty straight forward - if you get accepted into Y-Combinator, you get $500,000 at their standard terms and then there's an intensive 3-month period of acceleration! Read the FAQ here for more details.

Good luck!
